Mad Mike Hughes Plans To Prove “The Flat Earth Theory” in a $20 000 Rocket

“I don’t believe in science!” is the afirmation of a 61-year-old limo driver who believes the Earth is flat.

Mike Hughes has started the countown to launch a self-taught rocket into the atmosphere, near the Ghost Town of Ambay, California.

“If you’re not scared to death, you’re an idiot. It’s scary as hell, but none of us are getting out of this world alive. I like to do extraordinary things that no one else can do, and no one in the history of mankind has designed, built and launched himself in his own rocket.” Hughes said

People call him eccentric, quirky, foolhardy, but he doesn’t really seem to care, given the fact that he builds a rocket that’s going to outer space.

Hughes got permission from the town’s owner, the launch taking place next to a dilapidated hangar.

“I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the area, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust. But that’s not science, that’s just a formula. There’s no difference between science and science fiction.” Hughes added

It’s not the first time when he is trying something similar

The first time when he constructed and launched a rocket was on Jan. 30, 2014, in Winkelman, Arizona. At that time he jumped on a private property and traveled 1.374 feet. He collapsed after that landing and he needed three days to recover.
