Is attraction only directed towards individuals or is it just a fraction of information we are familiar with? Attraction in simpler terms is defined as the action or power evoking interest in or fondness for something or someone. Attraction evolves around feelings, sentiments, and a desire to pursue them. It is something that was even a part of our evolution, dating back to our reptilian brain, millions of years ago. The perception of attraction has been around since the beginning of the human race but was it all attraction represented? No. After understanding how this phenomenon was affecting our lives, a rather fresh concept came into existence which was called ‘The Law of Attraction’.

On a preliminary glimpse, this law can be professed as a way of wishful thinking but there is a more substantial structure supporting this law. It is common knowledge that deliberately or inadvertently we act as human magnets that tend to send out verdicts and emotions, charming back more of what we can deal with. Sadly, most of us are unable to acknowledge the potential that is buried deep within ourselves. Thus, a notion of enlightenment was presented. This whole concept provides a practical approach towards achieving goals and aims.

Upon researching it was found that about 2600 years ago Buddha was the first person which applied this law. It is stated that he evidently believed in the law of attraction as he said:

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become”.

Apart from what Buddha believed and spread out towards his people, many of the cultures as well as religions believe this discernment. If this concept is fanned out towards the western culture, their belief in karma is relatively comparable to this law. Karma is demarcated as what you give out to the world be it happiness, hate, love, anger or devastation, it will find its way back to you.

The Law of Attraction has been around for over thousands of years but it was presented as a way of life by William Walker Atkinson. In 1906, he presented The Law of Attraction in his book, ‘Thought Vibrations’, by saying,

“When we come to see that thought is a force – a manifestation of energy, having a magnet-like power of attraction – we will begin to understand the why and wherefore of many things that have heretofore seemed dark to us. There is no study that will so well repay the student for his time and trouble as the study of the workings of this mighty law of the world of Thought – The Law of Attraction”.

Atkinson introduced the practical approach to this law. He also enlightened the world with how to make this concept beneficial in our day to day life and what tools to apply in order to implement it.

In order to implement this formula in your life, you should be the in charge of your emotions and thoughts. As alleged by Atkinson, this task is a lot harder than it sounds. Numerous times our thoughts are formed by reactive and impulsive emotions and it is harder to take control. Apart from controlling those emotions, you must have a copious amount of concentration level. Atkinson further addressed mental and emotional stability as well as the healthy interactive relationship with subconscious as tools to attain such axiom. In order to achieve this lifestyle, it is additionally stated that to attain what you ponder upon, all sense of doubt and fear must be eliminated from sight.

As this rule constantly dwell upon the idea of concentration and freeing oneself from negativity, it can easily be associated with the notion of meditation. To manifest a life of optimistic practices, it is essential to terminate all negativity from the root: the subconscious layers of mind. Through meditation, the worries, anxiety, and depression melt away and evokes crystal clear thinking. The relation between law of attraction and meditation can also be witnessed by the practices of Buddha. This thinking is not only acknowledged by many famous contemporary personalities like Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Lady Gaga and, Arnold Schwarzenegger but the most genius scientific mind of the world, Albert Einstein agreed to that in the following words:

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality”.
